Kinnear heads the averages with 56, Iremonger’s average is 26. In the Gentlemen v. Players match, which ended in a draw, the former team were all out for 352, including Fry 69, Warner 50, and F. R. Foster 69. TIRRANT AND THE TEST MATCHES. • LORD HARRIS’S OPINION. (Received July 11, 9.30 p.m.) LONObN, July 11. Lord Harris, speaking at a meeting of the cricketers’ fund committee, discussed the question of Tarrant’s eligibility to play for England in tho test matches. He said that according to tho arrangement arrived at between Australia, South Africa, and England, Tarrant was able to play for England. Tho only objection was ono of sentiment, based on a fragile foundation. He hoped that Pry would bo able to make tho Australian trip, and said that if tho Marylehono Chib secured tho men they wanted they would send the finest team that ever loft tho country.
