Sir Joseph and Lady Ward, Mrs and Captain Scddon visited Cadbury’s settlement at BournviUe, Warwickshire, and inspected tho works and modern village. Sir Joseph Ward was gratified at the ideal conditions of the workmen and tho educational facilities provided. The Working Men’s Christian Brotherhood welcomed Mr McGowen, Premier of New South Wales, at Manchester. The Lord Mayor presided. Mr McGowen afterwards visited the city’s sewage works, and was much impressed by the gigantic scheme. Mr McGowen was entertained by the members of the Liverpool Chamber of Commerce.
