TRAMWAY REVENUE
ENGINEER'S REPORT. The city’s gross tramway revenue for tho four weeks ended June 23rd last was £10.678, compared with £9713 for the same period last year. Tho total results for tho twelve weeks from April Ist show an increase in the gross revenue of £22c5, and an increase in the working expenses of £658. After allowing for capital charges, states tho electrical engineer in his monthly report, there is a credit balance to date of £1698 as compared with £2ll last vear. Appropriations from this balance amounting to £352 will he made covering special cxi>eiidituro on conversion of box cars. etc. This leaves a net surplus to date of £1346. Tho revenue from sale of current from April Ist shows a decrease of £llO. and the working expenses a decrease of £4l. After allowing for capital charges there is a net surplus of £lB6 as compared 1 with £238 last year. The total number of passengers carried for the twelve weeks ended Juno 23rd amounted to 5,350.009, an in create of 363.707 passengers over tho same period last year. The car miles run for tho same period increased by 5585 miles. The traffic revenue per car mile on city lines was 14.83 d, a* compared with 13,85 d last year, an increase of .98d per mile. The working expenses per car mile were 9.79c1, as compared with 10.08 d last year, a decrease of .29d per mile.
