MONUMENT OF LIBERTY
GREAT GATHERING AT PALERMO,
By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright. (Received May 30, 1.5 a.m.) ROME, May 29. Tho King and Queen of Italy and a hundred thousand delegates, including many Garibaldians who participated iu the expedition of ISSO, attended the unveiling of a moniument of Liberty at Palermo, in Sicily.
Palermo was tho scene of an insurrection in 1820, and tho seat of a revolutionary Government in 1818-19. It was bombarded and reduced by tho Bourbons in 1819. and revolted, receiving tho troops of Garibaldi in 1860.
