New South Wales defeated Victoria at lawn tennis by thirteen rubbers, twenty-seven sets, IMG games to eight rubbers, twenty' sets, 222 games. The play was consistently good, Brookes and Heath being especially brilliant. They won all their rubbers. In the 'singles. Rice and Parker both lost to Brookes, the former 2—6, 3—6, and the latter I—6, I—6.1 —6. In tho doubles, Parker and Rice lost to Brookes and Heath, 2—6, 3 —6; Sayers and Marsh went down before them, 11 —13, 4—6; and Wright and Jones, 4—6, 2—G.
