AUSTRALIAN CRICKETERS TOUR NEW ZEALAND

FINAL ARRANGEMENTS ALTERATION IN ■ DATE FOR TEST MATCH A TWO MONTHS’, PROGRAMME. The Australian cricketers, seventeen in number, who have been selected for a two months’ tour of the Dominion, will arrive by to-morrow's steamer, and after playing Wellington’s best, will leave on February 15th for Auckland. They are to bo publicly welcomed to Wellington .by the Mayor (Dr A. K. Newman) at 5.15 p.m. on Wednesday in tho Town Hall, when tho Ministry will be represented by the HonJ. A. Millar.

THE WELLINGTON DATES. At last night’s meeting of _ the Wellington District Cricket Association the chairman (Air Martin Ltickie) explained eomo important negotiations which had been necessarv in regard to the arrangements for the uso of the Basin Reserve for the Australia v. Wellington match on February 11th, 12th and 14th and the Australia v. New Zealand test on March. 17th, 18th, 19th and 21st. Permission to charge for admission to the Danin -Reserve was obtained in regard to all dates except March 19th, which hod previously been reserved by the St. Patrick's Day Celebration Committee. Authority was given by the City Council reserves committee to negotiate with the holders of the date, and an endeavour was made to get them to alter their date to March 12th. Meanwhile telegrams were exchanged with the New Zealand Cricket Association pointing out the difficulty, and suggesting that it would be preferable to play In Wellington during Easter week. Mr Vance (secretary) and himself had taken the responsibility of advising this coarse to the New Zealand council, and this was ultimately decided, so that the dates of the test match would be Easter Saturday, Monday and Tuesday. The meeting approved of the arrangements made by the chairman and secretary. THE FIXTURES The following is a complete revised list of the Australian team's fixtures in New Zealand : February 9—Arrive Wellington. Team will stay at Grand Hotel. February 11, 12 and 14—Australia >. Wellington, at Wellington. February 15—Leave for Auckland by train at 12.15 p.m. February 16—Amro Auckland 7 a.m. Team will stay at Central Hotel. February 18, 19 and 21—Australia v. Auckland, at Auckland. _ February 22—Leave for Christchurch by train at 9.15 p.m. February 23—Arrive Wellington 4.7 p.m., thence by steamer 8 p.m. February 24 Arrive Christchurch 9 a.m. Team will stay at Warner's Hotel. February 25, 26 and. 28—Australia >. Canterbury, at Christchurch. Maroh 2—Leave for Dunedin by train 11.55 a.m., arriving 9.15 p.m. Team will stay at Grand Hotel. March 5, 7 and B—Australia, v. Otago, at Dunedin. Maroh 9—Leave for Christchurch by train 11.15 aju., arriving 7.27 p.m. Team will stay at Warner's Hotel. Maroh 11, 12 and 14—Australia v. New Zealand, first tost match, at Christchurch. March 15—Leave for Palmerston North at 7.30 p.m. March 16—Arrive Wellington about 5.90 a.m., and proceed by train to Palf meiston North at 9.10 a.m., arriving 1 p.m., commence match nt 2.80 p.m. March 17—Australia v. Manawatu, at Palmerston. March 18 Leave for Wanganui 7.10 a.m,, arriving 11.30 a.m,, commence match at 2 p.m. March 19—Australia v. Wanganui. March 21 Leave for New Plymouth at 4.9 p.m., arriving 9.20 p.m, March 22 and 23—Australia v. Taranaki. March 24—Leave , for Wellington 7.10 a.m., arriving 5.15 p.m. Team will stay at Grand Hotel. March 26, 28 and 29—Australia v New Zealand: second tost match, at Weilington. March 31—Leave for Napier by train at 10.50 a.m., arriving 9.20 p.m. April 1,2 and 4—Australia v. Hawke's Bay, at Napier. April s—Leave for Wellington at 7.30 a.m., arriving 5.15. p.m. April B—Leave for Sydney, ALTERATION IN WELLINGTON TEAM. Patrick, ol Wellington South Club, has been selected as one of the Wellington representatives against Australia, replacing Upham (Wellington North), who will be unable to turn out. Hawthorne, the Wellington Central player, is also scratched, os he cannot gel leave. His substitute will bo picked today.
