Mr and Mrs Francis Stevens, of Oriental Bay, leave for Napier on Saturday.

Miss Gilruth, from Scotland, arrived by the Main Trunk from Auokland. She will be' the guest of Mrs George Poarco till Monday and then stay with Mrs Beauchamp till Thursday, when she leaves Wellington for Australia via the Bluff and Hobart.

Mr and Mrs Birkett, of Kelburne, have returned from Day's Bay.

Mrs Vile, of Pahiatua, is visiting town.

Tho Rev. and Mrs Shirer and family are spending a holiday at Paekakariki and will return to town on the 15th.

Miss N. Duffy and Mrs Tipling, of Ghristchurch, are spending a" holiday in Wellington and are at the Arcadia.

A rare Christmas treat was provided for the two leper patients oh Quail Island, by members of tho Kia Ora Centre of tho Girls' Realm Guild; Wellington, who, through their secretary, Miss Erne M. Young, forwarded a big hamper well filled with dainties of various descriptions, including Christmas pudding, "cakes, and sweet?. The two men-express deep gratitude to the young ladias for their thoughtful kindness (telegraphs our Christclmrch correspondent). The caretaker of 'Quail Island also wishes acknowledging, on behalf of the patients, the receipt of books and sweets from Mrs Watson, Wellington.
