ROUGH ON GLOVES

A letter lias been received from a visitor complaining of tlio careless polishing of t-lio brass hand-rails on the cars .in AVellington. Care _is not takoti to remove all the polishing fluid, and tho result is that ladies catching hold of. the rail when boarding or alighting from a car carry away on their gloves what ought to have bee-u rubbed off before the car . came out. Tho green stain is very liard to remove, and the correspondent declares sho has had several pairs of white kid gloves ruined. This is not an isolated case..' One cannot expect the handrails to bo perfectly clean, but at least tho .brilliant-shine, or whatever it is/ might, bo wiped off; thoroughly where it . is likely to soil passengers’ apparel.
