THE VICTORIA LEAGUE
The bi-monthly committee meeting of tho Victoria League took place yesterday afternoon at the residence ot Airs Grace, in Hawkcstone street. Airs Tuckey, one of the vice-presid-ents, occupied the chair. There were also present Airs J. P. Luke, Mns Rankino-Brown, Airs Grady, Airs Corliss, Airs Corrigan, Mrs Gray, Aim {Stott, Airs Harris, Aliss, Coates, and Aliss Hording. A largo amount of correspondence was dealt with, and many Duplications were reported from New Zealand children desirous of corresponding with children in England, Canada and the United States, America. It was proposed to hold an At Homo”—Sir Charles Lucas and Mr Pearson to he the guests of honour and also to try to get ono of thosf gentlemen to give them an address on some Imperial subject. A resolution was carried to endow a children’s cot in i)io hospital, and to maintain it as long as possible. The membership of the league has now reached three hundred and fifty in New Zealand, which is n able increase on last year.
