THORNDON DINGHY CLUB’S SOCIAL
Sydney street Schoolroom wore a very festive appearance last night, the -occasion being the annual “ social ” of tho Thorndon Dinghy Sailing Club. Tho hall was effectively decorated with alternate festoons of lycopodium and tho club’s colours—-black and yellow. The stage was furnished as a drawing-room for non-dancers, one end of it being conspicuously occupied by the champion dinghy Zel. Dancing men were plentiful, and there were very few “wallflowers,” if any. The committee were energetic in providing partners for their guests, and great credit _ is due’to all concerned in the. organisation of tho function. • Among those present I noticed Miss Sexton,in black net over chiffon taffeta; Miss Maltby in effective lace frock, with touches of apple green silk; - Miss Ryan, heliotrope messaline; Mrs Woodward, creme voile; Miss Batchelor, blue silk muslin; Miss Robinson, creme crystalline ; Mrs Dc Choatu, vieux rose silk; Miss Astall. pale blue chiffon taffet’a; Miss Farciuhar, pale pink ninon, with touches of gold: Miss Edge, white-chif-fon taffeta; Miss Cole, cream, silk; Miss Baillie, heliotrope silk, and a profusion of other, daintily-frocked girls.
