INVERCARGILL UNDER NO LICENSE.
(To the Editor "N.Z. Times.") Sir, —Under the heading above you printed on Thursday a letter from '■ J. S. Palmer, licensee of the Edinburgh Castle Hotel, Auckland/' in ‘ which he blabberingly alleged that “No license" could be hold responsible for the treole murder and suicide at Inverttorgill this week. In reply, let mo \point out that fourteen men were sent to lunatic asylums from Auckland ■ last month, and that at least one more Aucklander who should have been "shoved” long Ugo is still permitted liberty of movement and of pen and ink. Ergo, Auckland's liquor license rule is responsible.—l am, etc., IZP AEMEB DXLLY.
