ANOTHER CANARD DISPELLED.

Sir, —Referring: to the letter addressed to you by Mr Charles Simmonds, under date 9th inst., your correspondent is quit© in error in stating that "Mr His* lop allowed > section No. 8 of Hunter street reclaimed land to be re-leased within the .last eighteen months to Messrs Bannatyne for a further term of years at .£66 per year/'' As a matter of fact, my company has never had *my negotiations with the Wellington City Council upon the subject of the ro-‘ newal of leases in respect to any property owned by the Corporation and occupied by my company.—l am, etc..
