For attempting to smuggle a small Pomeranian puppy into England in the breast-pocket of his overcoat. Mr Lewis Orvis, of Bath, was lined .£3 and costs at Dover. It was shown by the evidence of Preventive Officer iloare that the discovery of Che .Tog was made through the animal barking whilst ho was speaking bo Ovis. Mrs Ovis, who appeared instead of her husband, made the amusing defence that they had taken the dog across the "hand that way before. »
