FIRES
The two-storied house in Bouleott terrace, owned by Mr Wyett, which was destroyed by fire yesterday morning, was insured in tho South British Insurance office for Mr G. F. C. Campbell, of Wellington terrace, in writing to Superintendent Hugo upon the excellent work accomplished by the brigade in confining the fire to the one building, eulogises "tho capable and businesslike methods cf your firemen." At 10.40 o’clock last night the brigade received a call to a house occupied by •Tames O’Dea, of 9. Owen street. The outbreak was extinguished after a back bedroom and contents had been destroyed The other rooms, with contents, were slightly damaged by fire and water. The house is owned by Janies Morton, Cuba street The contents were insured in the United office for .£3OO. The fire was caused by a curtain coming in contact with a lighted candle.
