AMERICAN SCANDAL CURIOUS STREET RAILWAY TRANSACTION. SUSPICIOUS PAYMENTS. By Telegraph—Pre.es Association—Copyright LONDON. September 26. The New York correspondent of “The Times” reports that by means of a petition declaring the New York city railway insolvent, the tramway lines comprising the metropolitan street railway system have gone into the hands of receivers—namely, Adrian Ooliue and D. Robinson. The latter ia President Roosevelt’s brother-in-law. An examination of the books of the Inter-borough Metropolitan Company, the holding concern for all the traction system of Manhattan, has already led to the discovery of records of payments to a very prominent politician.
