Dalgety and Company, Ltd., Wellington, have received the following cablegrams from their London office, dated 2nd instant: —“Frozen mutton ' and lamb.—Since our last telegram prices are at par to Jd per lb lower. Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. We expect lower prices. There is good inquiry on the part of local millers for prime wheat. The market is firm. Sales of extra prime have taken place at 3s Id at country stations. A large lino, principally

From Oamant it is reported that the wheat market is much more active than for some time past, largely, in consequence of inquiries from the North Island for prime milling. Alcrchants seem disposed to give more than local millers, and sales have taken place of velvet up to 3s 4d, and up to 3s 5d for Tuscans, f.o.b. Oamaru. Oats aro meeting with some inquiry in Christchurch, but business is restricted, owing to scarcity of offerings. Tho export of potatoes has practically ceased, as stocks remaining will not bo more than aro required for local consumption.
