AMERICANS IN CHINA.
SOME WOAIEN ACCIDENTALLY “ PEPPERED.” HONGKONG, October 31. Admiral Train and Captain Train, Commander of tho American gunboat Quires, while engaged pheasant-shoot-ing at Ngating, accidentally peppered some Chinese women. The indignation of tho villagers was aroused, and hundreds surrounded tho officers, and after disarming them, knocked tho Admiral in tho mud, retaining Captain Train as hostage. Forty American marines thereupon landed and came into collision with tho villagers, whom tho officials support.
