YACHTING.
A committee meeting of the Port Nicholson Yacht Club was held last night. The commodore, Dir J. B. Speed, occupied the chair. Dir T. P. Willason reported that the buoj-s wore now painted and ready for laying, following Postponement Committee was appointed; —For first, second, and third-class yachts: The commodore, Dlessrs Holmes, and Harman; for dinghys, 14ft, patikis, and motor craft, Messrs DI. Laing, J. L. Swan, and L. Jones. The secretary was instructed to have the subscription list printed, and to call a, meeting to prepare the sections of the same. Tne following is the season’s programme for club races: —Three races each for first, second, and third-class yachts, to be sailed November lltb, 25th, and December 9th; three races each for patikis, half-deck boats (under 14ft), oil and steam craft, and open boats (not exceeding 10ft), to be sailed on November 18th, December 2nd and 16th. The annual regatta is to be held on January 32nd, and a general handicap race for first, second, and thirdclass yachts will be sailed on January 37tb. The Dtills Memorial trophy handicap for first-class yachts will be sailed on February 3rd.
