BUILDERS AND ARCHITECTS.
THE DEADLOCK ENDED. PRlfsS ASSOCIATION. TIMARU, October 26. Delegates representing about eight hundred builders in the colony, who are holding their annual meeting here, have for the last two days been engaged in a conference with delegates from' the recently-formed Institute of Architects practising in New Zealand. The principal business has been the consideration of the new conditions of contract.
The result of the conference is that new conditions of contract have been agreed to by both sides, and these will be brought into use not later than December Ist nest. This means that the deadlock between architects and builders is now at an end, and a very large amount of building work that has been delayed for some time will be immediately proceeded with. The next annual builders’ conference will bo held in Wanganui.
