CYCLING.
Entries for the Victorian bicycle road race of .£285 in cash, to be run from Sale to Prospect, a distance of twentyseven miles, in February next, close on December Ist. Entries for the road race of £75 for boys under eighteen of age also close on that date. .Entries must bo addressed to J. W. McLachlan, Sale, Victoria, or the League of Victorian Wheelmen, Melbourne. The opening £un of the cycle season in Wellington which has been postponed on account of the bad weather on two occasions takes place on Saturday afternoon next, starting from the General Post Office at 2.30 p.m. The riders will proceed via the principal thoroughfares of the city to Newtown Park. On arrival at the Park a varied programme of sports will be proceeded with. The Central Mission Brass Band’"will be in attendance, and afternoon tea will be provided by Mr Mawson, of Cuba street. A collection will be made in aid of the Hospital and Mission Band funds.
