ALLEGED BURGLARS.

A HAUL OF JEIWELLERY. PRESS ASSOCIATION. DUNEDIN. August 14. A number of robberies of jewellery from residences have lately been reported. Tho detectives’ suspicious fixed on a couple of young men, strangers to the town, last week, when a haul of £55 worth of jewellery was secured. Three men, giving their names as Robert Palmer, Win. Jones, and Walter Attwell. were arrested on charges of vagrancy. As the result of subsequent inquiries, Palmer and Jones are now identified as George Augustus Vincent and William. Preston, with several aliases. They will be charged with several offences of breaking and entering. Later on the men will bo charged with offences committed under similar circumstances at Christchurch, Wellington, Wanganui, and Auckland.
