Two bookmakers were each fined £5 and costs to-day for this breach of the. city by-laws, TIMARU, April 12. Ballantyne’s Imperial serge has been chosen by the Government for the uniforms for the Commonwealth Contingent. The sergeis made by the T'imaru Woollen Factory from wool grown in South Canterbury. The Volunteer companies in Wellington and Canterbury arc also being equipped with this serge.
