TRAINERS IN QUARANTINE. 1 MELBOURNE, March 19. Mr Foulsliain, the well-known Caulfield horso-owacr and trainer, was in the house where the Caulfield small-pox patient was found, and so were some of his trainers. In order to get over the difficulty of training the horses under the party's charge, an acre of ground adjoining the premises has been declared a quarantine area.

Mr -I. F. Clark, who has been appointed secretary of the Wellington Racing Club, was for' nearly eleven years secretary of the Roefton Jockey Club. When Mr Clark took charge of the affairs of the Reeftou Club the racing track was in a rough state, the centre of the course being covered with stumps and timber. The other appointments were also of a primitive nature. During Mr Clark’s term of office the club has made great headway, and at the present time the Reeftou track is admittedly the best racing track on the Coast, The area of the course is 3G acres, the freehold property of the club. The grandstand and improvements at present erected on the course are valued at about ,£SOOO. Mr Clark will lake up the business of the Wellington Racing Club at once. The annual meeting of the Shannon Hack Racing Club will be held on Thursday. April . Jlth. Horse-owners are reminded by advertisement in another column that"nominations close on Saturday next with Mr M. Moynihan, secretary, Shannon.
