TRAINING NOTES

NAPIER, Alarch 12. The majority of "tho horses entered in the coming races have now arrived, and some very interesting work has been put in on the tracks at Hastings and Napier Park. This morning Oamii© Chiel and Kissmary were sent a six-furlong flutter, going well and finishing together. Tho Shannon and Palaver, both looking very well, performed a useful working gallop, Nonotto, who arrived, from Auckland yesterday, did slow work. Cruciform and Skoboleff reached Hastings last night, and were apportioned easy tasks this miorning. Both appear well. Indian Queen and Destroyer registered a splendid five furlongs, finishing together. St. Alark went once round alone, doing the best gallop of the morning. Derringootte beat Donovan in a circuit contest at the Park. Uila. Bush Rose and First Blood were associated, Bush Rose being badly beaten, AJurmur and Crown Prince nut in a good mile gallop, both going well. AIASTERTON RACING CLUB. The autumn meeting of the Alasterton Racing Club will be held at the Opaki Racecourse on Thursday and Friday next. Holiday excursion fares will be issued at all stations, available for return until the 16th instant. The ordinary train leaving Wellington at 8 a.m. arrives at the Opaki siding at 12.15 p.m. The first race is timed to start at 12.30 p.m. The acceptances received are satisfactory, and some interesting racing should be witnessed; The following horses are suggested as likely to run well on tho opening day : ■ — Handicap Hurdles, Kohnnui. Masterton Hack Handicap, Cavalier. St. Patrick’s Handicap, West Guard. Telegraph Hack Handicap, Tq Pako. Ladies’ Bracelet, Forest Oak. Alarch Handicap, Gipsy Queen. Dash Hack Handicap, Valkyrie. Nominations for the Wairarapa Racing Club’s autumn meeting close tomorrow night at 8 o’clock with Air G. T. F. Hutton, secretary, Featherston.
