Air Barton has issued invitations to the Governments of India, Ceylon, Cape Colony and Natal to send representatives to the Alelbourne celebration in connection with the opening of the Commonwealth Parliament. ‘ PERTH, Alarch 9. Sir John Forrest, Federal Alinister for Defence, enjoys the distinction of being the first member of the Commonwealth Ministry elected. | He has been returned unopposed for the Swan electorate in the House of Representatives. Lyne, Federal Alinister for Home Affairs, resigns the, State Premiership this week. NEW ZEALAND COMMISSION. AUCKLAND, Alarch 9. The Federation Commission concluded the taking of evidence here this afternoon, and adjourned, to meet in Sydney at a date to be .fixed.
