IMPERIAL NAVY COAL SUPPLY.
CONTRACTS SUSPENDED. DISPUTE AS TO PRICE IN TIME OF WAR. MELBOURNE, Thursday. A deadlock has occurred in connection with the Admiralty coal contracts, owing to the coal merchants refusing to make themselves responsible for supplying the coal may be required in time of war at the fixed price accepted as the basis in time of peace. Consequently the annual contracts have so far not been renewed.
