COALMINING IN SYDNEY HARBOUR.

The Sydney Harbour Colliery Company has purchased a largo block of land afc Balmain, and signed a contract for sinking two shafts for coal to a depth of 29C0fb. Those are to bo completed in two years, and it is expected that a quarter of a million pounds will bo expended before the coal is brought to the surface. ■
