The City Rifles sent a team to the Upper Hntt on Saturday to firo a friendly rifle match With the rifle club there. Thofo was not sufficient time to finish-the iilatcK, arid it was therefore agreed to take an average for tho two men unable to complete the 600yds range. The scores are as follow:—Upper Hutt—Wilkie, 80; Till, 78; Greenwood, 76; F. Whiteman, 75; J; Whiteman, 74; Sykes, 73 ; B. Whiteman, 72; Maboy, 61; Keys, 61; Menzies, 61: total, 711. City Rifles— Jackson. 79; Williason, 76; Madoloy, 71; Elliot, 68; Madden, 68; Guise, 67 ;■ Luke, 66; Davis, 65; Martin, 63; Halpin, 56: total, 679. The average for 600yds was allowed to Keys, Menzies, Madeley and Guise. ■ _ All classes of the Wellington Navals fired for trophies and ammunition prizes on Saturday, tho scores also counting for the company’s belt. A and B Classes fired 7 shots at 300 and 500 yards with Martini rifles, and the C Class 10 shots at 300 and 500 yards with Sniders. P.O. Harris, with 56 points, obtained a win for the- A class trophy, and Seaman Bulford, with 54, secured an ammunition prize. Seaman Murray headed the B Class with 52 points, and - gets an ammunition prize. Seaman Broomhall’s score of 52 in C Class gave him his third win for Mr-Boedinghaus’ prize, which' now becomes his own property. Seaman Delaney, being second to Broomhall, takes the ammunition prize. Seamen J. Martin, Shearer and Robinson each had a top score to their credit for Bpedingbaus’ prize. • ... .
