EDWIN CHALLENGE BADGES.

After holding the Edwin Challenge Badges through seven well - contested matches, L. Blundell, Churchward, Maudsleyand Ballinger (skip) have been worsted at last and obliged to surrender tho coveted trophies. The victors are a team from the Newtown Bowling Club, consisting of <3K Prince,, A. Morris, J. Telford; . and J. Braokenridge "(skip), and tHo ..match’took place on Saturday afternoon on lingfon Bowling Club’s smaller green! .The game was 21 heads, and by the. time it was half through everything seemed to augur a very easy ' triumph' for Ballinger’s rink. At the end of the 13tb head they had scored 18 points to their opponents’ 7. In the 14th head, however, the Newtown players scored 6, and at the end of tho 20th head they had got.on even terms with their antagonists, tho scores being 20 all. In the last bead Brackenridge and his coadjutors secured the winning point. Tho winners scored in 10 heads and the losers in 11 heads, A series of contests among the players of the Wellington Club: will begin this week to determine which team shall represent the 1 club in challenging the Newtown Club to defend its possession of the badges.
