At a meeting of Government supporters, the Premier, Sir George Dibbs, said that owing to ihe recent tactics of the Retrenchment Party in connection With the Estimates, unless his supporters voted with the Government the only course would be to throw the Government upon the hands of the dr ask for a dis£clutioil.
It is understood chat a motion reducing ihe Estimates by an additional LiS2,OOO will be adopted. Of this saving L 75,000 will be cut .off Education, .L20,0Q0., Mines and Agriculture; and 1*20,000 off the Treasury, i)epartments. Compared with the previous year, the Estimates will show a reduction of L 450,000. (Received April 12, 7 25 p.m.) Sydney, April 12.
A boy, 16 years of age, has been sentenced to ten years’ penal servitude for stoning a Chinaman-tp death.
