FATAL FALL DOWN A SHAFT.

A fatal accident occurred at 10 o'clock tonight at the now Pii.ico Imperial mine. A man named Walter Allan, who was observed abmfe town during the ovenug, fell from the surface to the bottom of the shaft, n distance of 670 ft, and was there found doubled up in a truck with hi* thighs broken and a frightful gash inflicted on his left temple. Deceased was not Heen when approaching iho shaft, the doors of which had been left open for the purpose of lowering timber.
