UPPER WANGANUI STEAM SERVICE.
(UNITED PRESS ASSOCIATION.) Wanganui, December 4. At a largely attended meeting hold to-night the following resolutions were pwH*ed uuauimoufdy :—“ That with the view of establishing 1 e company to open the upper portion of the Wanganui River by means of steam communication, a committee be formed for the purpose of interviewing the Hon. Mr Ballanco, ftud arking him what support the project will be likely to receive from the Government." '* That the committee inquire as to the probable cost of a suitable utcamer.” The following committee were appointed ;—Mesrra G, Carton, R. Jackson, A. D. Willis, and Messrs Hassell and Young.
