RESIDENT MAGISTRATE’S COURT.

Drunkenness. —For this offence, Mary Pimble, William Mason, and Elizabeth Stotter were each fined ss, with the alternative of 24 hours’ imprisonment.
Larceny. — William Robertson, charged with the larceny of wearing apparel and working tools, the property of David Mason, was, on the application of the police, remanded till the next sitting (this morning). False Pretences.— Antonio Hansen, who had been arrested on a warrant issued at Masterton, was charged with obtaining from James Tidwell, by means of false represent tation, the sum of ss. On the application of Chief Detective Browne, the accused was remanded to Masterton.
Alleged Roll-stuffing. —Cornelius Ryan, who was defended by Mr J. H. Shaw and Arthur Gladman Smith, defended by Mr E. Shaw, were proceeded against for a breach of the Registration of Electors Act, 1879, by, on the 3rd October ultimo, making a false declaration before Mr W. Hutchison, J.P., respecting I heir ciaiats for enrolment on the electoral roll for South Wellington. Mr Gully appeared to prosecute. On the application of the respective counsels for the defence, to wbioli Mr Gully offered no objection, the hearing of the case was adjourned to Tuesday, the 6th instant.
