THE FOXTON ELECTION.

TO THE EDITOR OF THE NEW ZEALAK» TIMES,

SIH, —To-morrow the nominations for the Foxton district takes place, and I crave your indulgence to point out one or two facts to my fellow electors.

1. Of the six candidates, two are Foxton men who cannot represent our interests, and one, Dr. Duller, as manipulating a Maori block vote and for other reasons well known to the electors, we cannot accept. 2. If we split our votes among the remaining three candidates, one of those I have first named will be returned.

3. Mr France outside this particular part of the district will get very few votes, and is altogether out of it.

4. Mr Izard is a sedimentary fossil of the Brandon type, and will not even get aa many votes as he got last rime. 5. Karori and Makara have declared almost unanimously for Dr. Newman, and he has large support in other par|» of the district. Let us therefore not throw away our votes on France and Izard, but give our block vote for Newman. I don’t say he is everything that we conld wish, but he is better than all the others who have a chance of election, and he will thoroughly represent the district, and will bring a wonderful amount of energy and ability to the task, while if we split our votes we shall get Russell, Buller, or Wilson returned, and thus be practically disfranchised for the next three years.—l am, &0.,

An Ex-Supporter of Mr France, Ohariu, December 1.
