(. REUTER'S TELEGRAMS.) London, August Iff. Three per cent. Consols have declined one quarter, and are now quoted at 971. New Zealand securities are unchanged at last quotations, viz., 5 per cent. 10-40 loan, 1031 ; 5 per cent. 1889 loan, 103 ; 41- per cent, loan 1879-1904, 991. New Zealand wheat; ex ship, is quoted at 465., being a decline of one shilling. Adelaide wheat and flour have also fallen. The present prices, ex warehouse, for wheat, 475. 6d., and flour 355. 6d. Australian' tallow remains firm at 345. Cd. for best beef, and 365. Cd. for best mutton. No arrangement has yet been come to tor a match between the Australian cricketers and an All-England Eleven. Obituary : Madame Neilson, actress. August 17. In the House of Commons to-day, the Marquis of Hartington, of State for India, in reply to a question, stated that he disbelieved the report of
an entente cordiale existing between Abdul Rhaman and Ayoub Khan. Constantinople, August IT. Owing to the Great Powers not consenting to any change in the TurkoGreek frontier, as fixed by the Berlin Conference, Turkey has asked for twentyfour days extension of time to further consider the question as regards the settlement of rectification of the frontier. Parliament has been further prorogued until September 28. A box supposed to contain X26ozs. of gold from Cooktown, addressed to the City Bank, has arrived hero empty.
