AUCKLAND, September 1. The ore treated by the Waiotahi Goldmining Company for August yielded 1,7180 z retorted gold, valued at about £4580. This is a "record for the mine. REEFTON, August 31. Big River mine manager reports that during the week No. 8 level has been driven 10ft on the reef in face. At present there is 7ft of stone in the bottom of drive, and sft in back of drive. Stone shows gold very freely, and is solid and hard. Intermediate, has been driven 10ft. making the distance from winze 34ft. Raised twenty-six tons of stone for the week, making ninety-four tons in paddock. Length of stone in No. 8 level is 23ft. REEFTON, September 2.
