Considerable interest is being taken in the proposal to hold a .regatta at Mcetapu on. Boxing Hay, and if the Sounds people and Havelock can arrange to work the affair together, it will be better for all concerned. A meeting is. to be held in Havelock to discuss the matter.

Messrs Barton Bros, have nearty completed the new bridge over the Wakair.arewa River, so that in about a week's time the road from Blenheim to Nelson will be clear. The Pelorus Road Board do not intend to have a formal opening of the bridge. The local dairy factory will be opened for the coming season about the middle of September. At the S.M. Court, Havelock, on Tuesday, 22nd ult, before Mr Scott Smith, &.M., the long deferred cases of Paul against Priddle, and Priddle against Paul, were heard and disposed of. In the latter case tk* claim was for <£s 17s 2d, ; goods delivered. The claim was admitted and judgment given for plaintiff.. In Paul against Priddle the claim was for repairs to baker's oven and <£2o on account of defendant having misrepresented the amount of business he was doing at the time he sold out to plaintiff. His worship said he was satisfied there had been on mTsrepresentation on Priddle's part, and nonsuited the plaintiff in the counter-claim, with £3 3s costs. In the case Brownlie and Co. against the Marlborough Brewery Co., a claim for £4O, the defendants confessed judgment.

Neame against Mercer (Wellington), claim for £3 fish supplied, a verdict was given for plaintiff.
