About 3000 bales of wool and 11,500 sheep have been trucked at the Masterton railway station during the past four weeks.
During the past year there were eight bankruptcies in Masterton as compared with seven for 1903 and eleven the year before.
The following is a comparative table of the vital statistics for Masterton for 1903 and 1904. For the month of December, 1903: Births, 15; deaths, 8; marriages, 8. For December, 1904: Births, 28; deaths, 8; marriages, 5. For the last quarter ended December 31st, 1903: Births, 53; deaths, 19; marriages, 20. For quarter ended December 31st, 1904: Births, 62; deaths, 16; marriages, 17. For the whole of 1903: Births, 215;'deaths, 69; marriages, 69. Fior 1904: Births, 251; deaths, 67; marriages, 71.
