ELSTHORPE.

(From Our Own Correspondent.)

A bazaar organised by a committee of ladies in aid of the funds of the Elstliorpe Public Hall was opened in Mr Buchanan’s woolshed last Wednesday afternoon, which was tastefully decorated. During the period the bazaar was open there was a good attendance of purchasers and the various stalls were liberally patronised. The juveniles enjoyed a bran tub which afforded them huge delight, and the side attractions were nail-driving for ladies and hat trimming for gentlemen. These created much interest and amusement. The bazaar was in every respect successful, and the proceeds will materially assist the hall funds.

The annual public school picnic and distribution of prizes took place in the school grounds last Friday. The awards were made for attendance and sewing.
