Friday. The annual meeting of the Daleiield Co-operative Dairy Company Avas held yesterday afternoon. Avhen there Avas a large attendance of shareholders. The chairman. Mr A. W. Gallon, in moving the adoption of the report and sheet—a summary of Avliich has already appeared iu the columns of the “Times” —referred at some length to the satisfactory season just passed, Avheu the suppliers of the company, avhich has the largest factory in the. district, divided £13,004 11s 7d. besides reserving £6O 19s 3d for the payment of a six per cent, dividend upon subscribed capit'al. iliere were 67 milk suppliers, the average payment to each supplier being £194. Mr Gallon also made reference to the fact that the suppliers of the factory had received more than 4d per gallon for jjieir milk. It Avas mentioned that the Dalefield Factory had taken the highest prices on the market. Mr James Stevens. Avho seconded the motion, said that although at present NeAV Zealand cheese could stand against the Avorld, the time Avould arrive Avhen there Avould be keen competition from the Argentine and Russia. Therefore care should be taken that only first-class cheese he placed upon the London market and to supply a first-class article suppliers must furnish good milk, ’in a further discussion it Avas shoAvn that after paying all expenses, the cheese realised betAveen £44 and £45 per ton. At a subsequent meeting, Mr Knutson Avas re-elected a director, and Mr A. Gallon chairman of directors.

At a meeting of the Management Committee, of the Wairarapa Pastoral Societv this afternoon at GreytoAvn some fortyapplications Avere considered from various parts of the colony for the position of secretary to the society at a salary of £l5O per year. It Avas resolved to leave the matter in the hands of a sub-committee Messrs BklavUl, G. Tully. W. C. Buchanan, A. Gallon, Anderson, H. Morisot and another, Avho will recommend the person it considers most suitable to a general meeting of the committee to he held a fortnight hence.
