MASTERTON.
(By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent.) MASTERTON, August 24. Tho ground, committee of the Masterton Agricultural and Pastoral Association yesterday refused to grant the use of a portion of the slioav ground to tho local cricket club. It is feared that owing to the difficulty in procuring a pitch there will be no cricket here during the coming season.
The first annual meet ing .of Lgavcs and lorns, Ltd., auctioneers, Avas held yesterday, Avhen the report and balancesheet, shoAving a dividend of 7 per cent., with a bonus to shareholding purchasers and a substantial sum placed to tho reserve, was adopted.
