LONDON, August 19. At the election to fill the vacancy caused by the death of Mr W. Johnston, Conservative member for South Belfast, Mr Sloan, the Protestant Association candidate, and an opponent , of tho Education Bill, polled 3795 votes, and Mr Dunbar Buller, a Unionist, 2969. ' -

LONDON, August 20. The by-election for the Sevenoaks division of Kent, neco.ssafy owing to the appointment of Air H. W. Forster as Junior Lord of the Treasury, is being sharply contested.
