New York, November 19. The tariff question is much discussed in the United States just now. Those members of the Democratic Party who detached themselves from their former organisation on account of disapproval of Mr Bryan's policy on the silver question have expressed their readiness to make sacrifices in the interest of their new colleagues of the Republican interest, but they also expect the Republicans to make concessions to them in return. They ask that the tariff should be considered with reference to revenue as well as Protection. .London, November 20. The New York correspondent of the Times says that the influence of the whole business community is in favour of moderation and compromise. New York, November 21. Mr Arbuckle, a millionaire, has been found dead in a street in New York. The medical certificate which has been given is to the effect that death was caused by heart disease, but murder is suspected, as money and a watch are missing from the body. Washington, November 21.
