Havannah, November 17. Fierce fighting 1 has taken place at San Miguel, in Cuba. The Spaniards had 20 killed and 113 wounded. General "Weyler is said to be making desperate efforts to bring about decisive action before the United States Congress meets. Calcutta, November 19. In order to provide work for those suffering from, famine, the Indian Government has determined to spend 91,000,000 rupees on the construction of railways during the next three years. Capetown, November 21. The rinderpest lias caused the death of 200,000 cattle belonging to the Matabele natives, while Khama and his people' (the Bamangwato) have lost 800,000 cattle from the same caxise.
