THE WOOL MARKET.

London, April 28. Tho wool sales opened to-day with a gedcral decline of 5 per cent. London, April 29. Atthe wool sales, 11,160 bales of medium selected wero offered. There was a full attendance, but virtually no American buyers. The present decline is most acute. Medium merinos, which are receiving entire foreign support, and fine cross-breds have declined fully 5 per cent., and coarse from par to 5 per cent. London, April 29. At tho wool auctions to-day, there was good competition, but prices wero unchanged. London, April 30. Very faulty sorts ot wool show a decline of 7 J percent. London, May 1. The wool sales show a slightly better spirit. May 3. Business in the Bradford wool market is lifeless.

The following cablegram has been received by the Xew Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company : —The sales opened at an average decline of about 5 per cent, on last sale's closing rates, except coarse crossbred, for which the market is unchanged. The attendance of both Homo and foreign buyers is good, and the competition by them is fairly active. The total quantity available, including wool held over from last series, is 370,000 bales, 1.01,000 bales of which have been forwarded to the manufacturing districts direct.

Messrs Murray, Roberts ami Co. have received the following wool market cablegram from their London house, Messrs Sanderson, Murray and Co., dated 29th April: Good attendance of buyers. Merino and line crossbred prices have declined 5 per cent j coarse crossbred market is weaker.

The following telegram dated London, 28th April, has been received by Messrs Levin and Co., Limited, from their agents, Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited: —"The wool sales opened to-day with a large attendance of buyers. The competition was fairly animated. The selection of wools was indifferent. As compared with the closing rales of last series pries are at par to 5 per cut, lower." The following telegram, dated London, the 29th April, has been received by Messrs Levin and C >., Limited, from their agents, Messrs Dalgety and Co., Limited :—" The, sales continue active, and competition is brisk. English and Cerran buyers are tho principal operators, but prices are 5 per cent, to Bper cent, lower than the closing rates of last series, excepting for the bulk of super and good lambs' wool. The Americans are purchasing nothing. Medium and inferior lambs'wool are neglected."
