A POLITICAL DON QUIXOTE.

TO THE EDITOR. I refer to Don Quixote and Sancho Pauza, and I am ware that no more worthy imitators of that immortal pair could be found in the four quarters of _ the \ globe. Personally Captain liussoll is a | " ■•- i1 - s£ tiaa kßiahi of UIQ rueful I

Sancho Panza is perfection. Their objects are tho same, viz., tilting at windmills. Behold tho noble Captain with liis political lanco in rest and mounted upon his faithful charger, the National Ass., making a terrific onslaught on the Seddon windmill, and, finally, being taken up by that powerful engine, whirled round and lound and cast ou one side a political wreck. Truly Captain Russell and Dr Newman and the National Ass. are in a bad way after the encounter, and, although they afford fun for the people, there is something sad in seeing two otherwise respectable men making such an unseemly exhibition of themselves. God knows what capers they will perpetrate next, and, although both tho knight and his squire havo been very severely handled, they are still planning fresh exploits which will only lead to fresh chastisement and utter humiliation.—l am, Ac., Friend of the People. r.S.—I hear that the Don and his squire contemplate an expedition for the relief of the distressed damsels composing the National Convention of Women at Christchurch.
