LATEST COMMERCIAL.

Mr D. Crewe reports:—At the Pahiatna fortnightly stock sale held on Tuesday, tho 21st, the yards were again over-taxed with slice]), mostly of good quality. Cattle came forward in moderate numbers, mostly young stock. There was a good attendance of the public, amongst whom were several outside buyers. The good classes of sheep were well competed for, and fair market prices were obtained in most eases. Inferior classes wore neglected, although out of the whole quantity yarded only a few linos were passed in under the hammer. These wore mostly cleared before the close of tho day. The following prices were realised:—2 and 4tooth ewes, real good class, 6s IGd to 7s ; two pons of strong ewes, mixed ages, 6s ; several pens of crossbred ewes, 4 and 6tioth, is 1 ti«l to 5s fid ; fnll-moulh ewes, good condition, Is 5d ; cull owes, 2s 2d ; lambs, good shorn, Is 2d ; inferior mixe I, early shorn, 1 1 ; cull lambs, 2s 21; fat wethers, light weights, 7s Gd to 7s fi 1 ; store wethers, 5s 3d ; dairy caw, springing, £5 5s ; dairy cow 5, late calving, £3 Ids t.o £; 15s; dairy heifers, to c live in spring, .£3 Ids to £ i 17s ; 18-month to two-year-old heifers, £2 3.5 Gd to £2 16s ; woaners, 20s ; pork pigs, 15s each. At tho Pahiatna horse and produce sale on Hatu fday, 18th, bidding throughout was fairly brisk, but many lines were passed in under the hammer owing to the owners’ reserves not being reached ; however, after tho sale most of them were sold. Tho following aro the prices realised : Good draught horses, £l3 10s to £ls ; light draughts, £lO Ids to £l3 ; harness horsos, £fi; hacks, £3 15s to £5 10s ; old crocks, no demand. At the produce sale all entries were cleared. Potatoes, S.s per sack ; onions, lid per lb ; bacon, 3d to 4d per lb.
