The barque Woosung will he towed down from Auckland by the llpola in the beginning of next month. It wili he remembered that she stranded at the Friendly Islands, and was towed to Auckland recently. She will he used as a coal hulk here. The sailing vessel Position’,a. 721- tons, has been chartered to load at New York for Wellington. The Wakatipu, leaving Wellington on tho lGth May, will connect with the Thormopyho, timed to leave Sydney about May 2fi and Melbourne about Juno 3 for South Africa. It is notified that through passages from Wellington may be booked at Cook’s Shipping Olliee. THE KAIKOURA, FROM LONDON. The Kaikoura, which arrived hero at 6 a.m. on the 22nd, left Plymouth at’2 p.m. on the 7th March, and encountered a heavy gale and high seas when crossing the Bay of Biscay, and arrived at Tencriffc at noon on the 12th, leaving there for Capetown the same day. From the 17th heavy rains and unsettled weather was met with up to the picking up of tho S.E. trades in lat. 3S. Capetown was reached at midday on tho 29th ; loft at 1 p.m. next day, and encountered a succession of heavy gales and high seas up to tho meridian of Capo Lcuwin on the 12th instant, and arrived at Hobart at noon on the 17th. Landed passengers and mails, embarked passengers, and took in 100 tons silver load ore, sailing again at G. 15 p.m. From Hobart experienced fine weather until arrival. The Kaikoura’s cargo consists of 21110 tons, of which 1100 tons will bo landed at this port. The steamer sailed for Waitara on Friday, thence to Lyttelton, which is to lie her final port of departure from the Colony on 11 tlx May. THE TAINUI.
