A MAN KILLED ON THE RAILWAY.

Dunedin, April 21. A passenger by tho express train from Christchurch f"ll off, and was killed on the Dunedin side of Herbert. The man’s name is supposed to bo J. Macky, and it is thought ho joined tho train at Oamaru. It is presumed he was passing from the platform of one carriage to another when the jerk of rounding a curve caused him to miss a stanchion and fall. Three of the carriages passed over him.

Information from Herbert states that life was extinct when the body was found. Oamaru, April 21.

From papers found on the body, it is supposed the man killed on the railway was a settlor named J. Macky, residing at Kakanui.
