HUNTING.

HUNTING DATES. Rangitixei Hunt. August 3—Overton. After several postponements of late the members of the Hunt Club were fortunate on Saturday in having a fine afternoon for a gallop across country after the hounds, which met at 2.30 at the Hutt Bridge. After trotting along the road as far as the property of Mr Hooper at the Taita, the hounds picked up the scent, the drag having been laid for the first two runs over some three miles of good country to Mr Buck's by Mr Maurice Welch (a resident of the Taita) on foot. The last run, laid by Mr Mellow, junr., was from Mr Milne's down to Mr Mellow's, where the hounds checked, and this ended a very pleasant afternoon's sport.
